Meet Dr. Alison Locker:

Alison Locker, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist with an expertise in attachment theory, parenting and early childhood. She has worked primarily with children and parents for almost 30 years. Dr. Locker earned her undergraduate degree from Harvard, where she graduated Magna with Highest Honors, and completed her doctoral training in the clinical program at the City University of New York. She spent her postdoctoral training at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Therapy and Research and the Horace Mann School. Additionally, Dr Locker is a certified mediator in New York State with a specialty in helping parents navigate the challenges of separation and divorce.

Most importantly, Dr Locker is the mother of three grown children, two daughters and a son now 26, 24 and 21 who have all fully launched into the world. She has lived through and learned from every stage of child development first hand. She uses not only her extensive clinical training and knowledge of psychological theory and practice, but also this hard earned knowledge to inform her very pragmatic work with parents. She offers tools and strategies and general support with a healthy dose of real life experience and as much good humor as possible.
